Bailey Walter is the 14 year-old and founder of Let Them Dance, an initiative to increase awareness about a little known, but devastating disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
It all began when Bailey's best friend was put in a wheel chair because of SMA syndrome. And with their 4th grade dance around the corner, Bailey knew she didn't want to go without him. Hoping to one day find a way for him to dance again, she became passionate about finding a cure for SMA.
If you've never heard of SMA, here's one thing everyone should know, according to Bailey: "The main thing that everyone needs to know about Spinal Muscular Atrophy is that most children die before the age of two. It effects not only their muscles for walking, but also for breathing and eating. There are some that live long lives, but don't walk. Some may always require assistance for daily living." At just 10 years old, Bailey approached her city's Mayor with the hopes of creating a day dedicated to SMA Awareness. "I had never done anything like this before," she says, "so I was very nervous reading my speech." But overcome her fears she did, and she got the mayor to agree.
Even though she's showed incredible courage, Bailey says that one of the biggest hurdles she's had to jump is definitely her young age. "When I was 10 no one took me seriously at first. It took a lot of pleading and doing a lot of research on SMA so I could prove my case." Since then, Bailey has set up a successful bracelet business, from which all proceeds are given to the Western New York chapter of Cure SMA. In addition, Bailey says, "I showed that I could contact businesses by phone, mail or in person to help get contributions for the annual walk. [Every year Cure SMA holds a walk to raise fund and awareness for the disease]... The hardest part was convincing people we were serious, but we stood our ground and proved we were."
Approaching the five year anniversary of Let Them Dance, Bailey has many ideas to expand her organization, including an initiative to make blankets and pillows for newly diagnosed children. "I am hoping that by the time it turns ten, the cure will be found. If not it just means that I need to work that much harder to help these kids and Let Them Dance!"

Picture this: You didn't study for your math test and you're already anticipating the consequences. A less-than-stellar grade will most likely result in a stern talking-to from the 'rents and you'll think to yourself... "I have got to keep those YouTube benders in check." The struggle is real, we get it.
But for TeenNick Top 10 Fresh Artist Kaya Stewart, that wasn't exactly the case.
By now, you've probably heard Kaya's stomping hit single "In Love With A Boy." What you maybe don't know is that she wrote that song on the back of a math test she knew she wasn't going to ace. And according to Billboard, the very boy in the song was in her middle school math class!
Now, we can't promise you'll be able to make beautiful music out of questionable study skills, but we can promise you a super-exciting appearance from Kaya Stewart on TeenNick Top 10 TONIGHT! You'll hear more about her upcoming music and you also get to check out her killer combat boots. Boom. You're welcome.
9PM is where it's at, y'all!

Chances are, you've heard the super-sweet and totally infectious country stylings of our TeenNick Top 10 Fresh Artist, Kelsea Ballerini. Her hit "Love Me Like You Mean It" has already topped Billboard's country airplay songs charts, and her new single "Dibs" is taking over country radio as we speak. If you haven't heard these tunes, be warned, they WILL get stuck in your head.
To celebrate Kelsea's place on our impressive Fresh Artist roster (hello, alumns include 5 Seconds of Summer, Fifth Harmony and Shawn Mendes) and our general obsession with her, we rounded up 5 reasons we want to be her BFF, like, yesterday.
1. Her idea of a good time = good food + good people. I mean, where do we sign up?
Sat on my apartment floor eating pizza and giggling the night away with my favorite people tonight. Happiest heart.— Kelsea Ballerini (@KelseaBallerini) August 12, 2015
2. Her dog, Josh (named after country singer Josh Turner), will paralyze you with his cuteness. HE'S SO FLUFFY.
3. She freaks out just as much as we do when it comes to Nick Jonas.
4. She worked really hard to get where she is today and she didn't give up even when she hit a few roadblocks. If you're interested in stars' path to success, check out this awesome video in which Kelsea talks about her journey.
5. This is how she celebrated her first #1. We didn't think it was possible to love Kelsea more, but this girl is going to do big things.
yesterday I got to celebrate my first #1 with the people that made it happen. I talked about how as dreamers we spend so much of our lives looking forward to the goals we've set for ourselves, but that in that moment I started looking back...to the times I sat in big offices starry eyed at 14 and was told I should move to Nashville, to the people I met, the places I've played, and the sometimes dull stars that aligned and burned bright and made this milestone happen. It's such a journey. And while I'm looking forward to so much, looking back has never looked so beautiful. Love you. Mean it. #uglycry
Catch Kelsea on TeenNickTop 10 TONIGHT at 9pm!

We laughed. We cried. And now we're going to do it all over again. Just in case you missed It Goes There: Degrassi's Most Talked About Moments (you can watch it in full here!), we rounded up a few of our favorite quotes from the iconic Degrassi cast members who took a stroll down memory lane. Here are 10 times the Degrassi special was hilarious, heartwarming and so went there.
10. When we got to see old audition footage...
...and baby Craig (Jake Epstein) owned up to his emotions.
While Adamo remembered his surprising first day on set:
9. When the actors who played LGBT characters talked about the impact of their story lines.
Like Annie Clark on the legacy of Fiona.
Or Marco's unforgettable story and how it connected not only to millions of teens, but also to Adamo's personal life.
8. When Lauren Collins (Paige Michalchuk) and Stacey Farber (Ellie Nash) remembered how their very different characters came together through Ellie's self-harm narrative.
7. And, of course, the school shooting episode that will go down in Degrassi history.
What it felt like to film those harrowing scenes...
And the importance of doing such an important story and issue justice.
6. When Ana Golja simply and poignantly described the weight of her character Zo's sexual assault story line.
5. And when the cast expressed how Degrassi is more than just a show about teens.
4. When executive producer Stephen Stohn acknowledged one of Degrassi's greatest conundrums.
Respect for owning up to it. #SeanAndEmmaForever
3. When Aislinn and Munro proved that they're a perfect a pair off screen.
All #goals: shattered.
2. When Alicia Josipovic confirmed all of our hopes and dreams about what it's like to be on Degrassi.
1. And when co-creator Linda Schuyler perfectly captured the spirit of Degrassi.

The comebacks, the truth bombs, the zingers -- Degrassi characters give voice to hilarious, honest and heart-wrenching words that make up the show's realest moments. Writer and co-executive producer Matt Huether is behind some of Degrassi's most iconic and beloved episodes, so we asked him to take us through those truly unforgettable one-liners. These are Degrassi's Top 10 Quotable Moments... and you can quote us on that!
1) Spinner -- Season 2, "Weird Science"
A hilarious quote from a hilarious character about a hilarious situation.
2) Jay -- Season 4, "Secret"Part 1 & Season 5, "Turned Out"
No matter how dark the subject matter, a Jay line could always be counted on to lighten things up.
3) Emma -- Season 1, "Coming of Age"
Classic Degrassi. Frank, confrontational, true, and kinda badass.
4) Manny -- Season 5, 'Venus" Part 1
This line is so personal to Manny in the moment, yet also feels descriptive of the entire culture at the time.
5) Ashley -- Season 3, "Accidents Will Happen" Part 2
Ashley's Full quote: "Hey! Everybody! These two have an announcement to make! Guys? Oh, they're way too modest. So I'll help spread the joy. These two idiots are pregnant! That's right, because it's way too difficult to use a condom!"
Degrassi monologues are rare, but this one has it allanger, betrayal, mortification, teen pregnancy...
6) K.C. -- Season 10, "Drop the World" Part 1
Here, a tense scene teams up with a killer line delivery to create one of the most viral quotes from the past few seasons.
7) Sean -- Season 4, "Back in Black"
"You want me to talk? Fine! When the gun went off, my hand was covered in warm liquid. I thought I pissed myself, but then I realized I was drenched in Rick's blood."
Devastating and real. Encapsulates a ton of feelings about the school shooting story in one small piece of dialogue.
8) Maya -- Season 12, "Zombie" Part 2
"He broke up with me by killing himself. I hate him. I hate him! I feel like I'm never going to be happy again."
Sometimes a single line can crack the shell of a tough character and let you feel their true emotions.
9) Eli -- Season 10, "Breakaway" Part 2
An incredibly simple character introduction line that somehow stole hearts and launched one of the show's most popular romances.
10) Clare -- Season 11, "Love Game"
Clare's Full Quote: "Did three months mean nothing?! Did you flip a switch and erase me from your memory?! It took you a year, A YEAR, to get over your ex. Did you ever love me at all?"
What a great piece of dialogue. What a great delivery. So fun to yell at the top of your lungs whenever you're upset about anything.
So many unforgettable quotes. Which one will be stuck in your mind forever?
Keep watching the Degrassi two-week finale event with us! Don't miss It Goes There: Degrassi's Most Talked About Moments on July 31st, where we'll count down the most iconic Degrassi moments... with all your favorite cast members from all fourteen seasons!

Degrassi. It can get real awkward.
1) Being at the top of the pyramid doesn't always make you number 1, especially when you have to go number 2.
2) Hopefully JT realized that you can't pump all your problems away.
3) Curiosity killed the cat. At least the cat didn't steal a vibrator and have it go off in class.
4) As the wise Paige once said: "That is why no one should ever wear track pants."
5) The audition must go on! Even if your chicken cutlet falls out while playing the cello.
6) It's all fun and games until you get hit with a balloon full of pee.
7) Skip the school dance? Sure. End up watching adult films and getting caught by adults? Probably not.
8) Becoming a woman is a milestone for every young girl. Just not one that happens on the front steps of Degrassi.
9) Safety is always a priority...running into an adult when buying condoms? Not so much.
10) Because who wouldn't be embarrassed seeing their principal jazzercising? Ew.
Do you have any fave cringe-worthy moments from Degrassi? Shout 'em out in the comments! And keep watching the Degrassi two-week finale event with us! Plus catch It Goes There: Degrassi's Most Talked About Moments on July 31st, where we'll count down the most iconic Degrassi moments with your favorite cast members from all fourteen seasons!
