DEGRASSI SPOILERS below if you haven't seen the new episode yet. But if you watched and need to know what songs were playing, the generous Degrassi Music Team is happy to share the info and the stories behind how the songs got there!

Which songs were on Degrassi?

"Young Blood by The Naked & Famous
From when Clare and Jenna get ready for school. Check the Degrassi page for a sample.
" The Naked & Famous are an amazing band. So much energy, so much amazing instrumentation and synth, and really rad lyrics to boot. They were perfect to kick off the new school year and introduce a bunch of new characters. After introducing the newest, youngest character, Tyson, we move to see Clare and Eli, sharing an awkward moment, and the song covers it superbly."

"Jigsaw by Broken Bricks
From when Clare makes a scene at Above the Dot. Check the Degrassi page for a sample.
" Broken Bricks are a really cool indie band from Toronto; we came upon this demo recording of this song. There is a full band recording, but this one was so raw, so genuine, that we preferred using it. Above the Dot is a new hangout for the kids of Degrassi, and this music sets its tone. The lyrics hit perfectly with Clare's rampant emotions, and Eli's lack thereof, but it's mostly the one-take, life off the floor feeling that sold us on this placement, as it directly relates to all the emotions of the scene."

"Oh My, What A Fine Day by Behind Sapphire
From Jake and Clare's first kiss!
" This song had been on our radar for a while, and this perfect moment came up and it just felt so right. The beautiful imagery behind the kiss, the nighttime air and the flickering lights in the background, coupled with this song, all became the mystical cloud around the budding love of these two characters."
