DEGRASSI SPOILERS below if you haven't seen the new episode yet. But if you watched and need to know what songs were playing, the generous Degrassi Music Team is happy to share the info and the stories behind how the songs got there!

TeenNick's Degrassi

"Girls Like You" by The Naked & Famous
Anya, the morning after. Check the Degrassi page for a sample.
"This placement felt like Anya was still dreaming. If you remember, this song started her whole downward spiral, when she started making out with Owen at her birthday party. Now that's a distant memory, and the song still resonates in Anya's head. "

"The Distance" by Peasant
Connor is leaving Degrassi. Check the Degrassi page for a sample.
"What a sad moment! Sad, but hopeful, so we had to convey a few different emotions, which wasn't a challenge when we had such a powerful song such as The Distance. Notice the lyrics over the bright sun shining through the doorway... what a beautiful moment! "

"Come & Gone" by Kalle Mattson
Anya begs the Dean of Admissions.
"A nice transition piece; it really sets the mood for both scenes. The song itself is beautiful, and we wish there was room to feature a bit more of it!"

" Dark Days by The Sleeping
Anya defies her mom, and goes out anyhow.
" Angry and rebellious -- that's what we needed for this scene. The song might be playing from the radio, or it might be playing in Anya's head -- you decide. In any case, The Sleeping delivered exactly what we were looking for."

"Resistance" by The Arka Teks
Anya goes back to the club.
" SO much fun with this song and this scene, even though it's actually a pretty serious topic. We had to get inside Anya's head again -- she thinks she's in the right so we had to think that way, too. This pounding song drove us to believe she was having fun (when she was really just out of control). "
