Bucket and Skinner: Two Episodes Tonight!

Movie Mondays: Free Willy!
Posted on 04/29/2013 by LisaFree Willy is on TeenNick tonight at 9pm et / 6pm pt! If you've never seen it, it's an amazing story about a boy who doesn't fit in anywhere until he becomes best friends with a whale.
The promos call it a "whale-mance," which makes me giggle, but the movie itself makes me cry. It's a story about how far people will go to protect their friends, even if those friends aren't human. (I would do ANYTHING to keep my dog safe, so I can definitely relate.)
If you like friendship and/or whales, free up a little time tonight around 9pm et / 6pm pt, and watch Free Willy on TeenNick!
Degrassi: The Awkward-est Episode Winner!

If you've never seen Mercy Street, here's what you need to know going into it: Rick was abusive to his girlfriend, Terri, and put her in a coma. In this episode, he returns to Degrassi, and a lot of people (including Emma and Paige) don't want him there. The famed awkwardness of this episode takes place in the subplot, which is about J.T. trying to impress Manny. A few highlights:
"Look, it's a stack of dimes!" - Toby
"Guys, check it out. I have a solution to J.T.'s little problem!" - Danny
"Um... your lips are kinda sweaty." - Manny
"Uh, I can explain!" - J.T.That is just at taste of the over-the-top awkwardness contained in Mercy Street. After rewatching it just now, I'm fascinated by the friendship between J.T., Toby, and Danny. Danny was the one to pull J.T.'s pants down, embarrassing him in front of his girlfriend, but Danny was also the one who used a fake id to buy the penis pump as a gift for J.T. What do you think -- is that a true depiction of what guy friendships are like? You embarrass the heck out of each other, but you also help each other through rough times?

I love this pic.
The more Bucket and Skinner I watch, the more I appreciate Aloe. I like anyone who's willing to burst into song in public.

I love how in this one they all look like glamorous soap opera stars. Watching this gif, you'd never guess how much time these kids spend in dusty attics, dirty basements, and cobwebby crypts.
A useful life tip, whether you live at Anubis House or not: If you have to go anywhere dark and scary, don't go alone. Bring friends (and flashlights) with you.

I can really relate to what Katie says about how working in the garden has helped her. Nature is the best. Whenever I'm stressed or sad, the best thing I can do for my brain is take a hike or sit by the ocean and watch the waves.
This planet is good for us, so let's be good back to it, OK? (And not just on Earth Day, of course.)
Maybe if we're lucky, someday we'll all get to experience a Jatie-like moment where our hands touch around a l'il baby plant:
Degrassi: The Best Bestie Episode Winner!
Posted on 04/19/2013 by LisaThis week, we asked you to vote for your favorite Degrassi episode about friendship, and we posted the winner online for Fan Favorite Friday. "My Body Is a Cage" won by a ton of votes! Want to watch Eli and Clare support Adam as he comes out as transgender? We put the full episode online.
If you've never seen "My Body Is a Cage," this is the episode that won Degrassi a Peabody Award (which is a really big deal). It's also one of my all-time favorite Degrassi episodes, so I'm glad you guys voted for us to put it online.
Watching Adam struggle to make peace with his family, his friends, and his own body makes me teary-eyed, but one of my absolute favorite moments in this episode is when he tells Clare and Eli (two of his closest friends at Degrassi) about being transgender. Their response, which is basically, "OK, cool," makes me love THEM so much more, too.
