If you're down in the Monday dumps, we totally feel you. The long-awaited weekend whipped by faster than you could say "amazeballs" and the start of a new week is just a little too much, too soon. Sometimes though, it's all about perspective. Thanks to the misfortune of our favorite Degrassians, here are five ways your Monday probably could have been worse.
2. Or gotten whacked in the head with an inflatable palm tree.
3. You could have been bribed by a sophomore with contraband sleeping pills.
4. Or hallucinated during a slow dance.
5. And goodness gracious, you could have cannonballed into wading pool.
See? Your Monday wasn't so bad, now was it? Thanks for taking one for the team, Degrassi! (And if any of the above actually happened to you today, we sincerely apologize.)

This week on Degrassi, we watched the students get ready for the kick-off Beach Bash dance. With the threat of no-shows, a little bribery, and one major party foul, all we have to say is: Have you ever been to a drama-free school dance? Didn't think so.
Check out our recap of 'You Got Me' below, and if you haven't seen the full episode, watch it online first because you'll be all "Oh my Lady Gaga, SPOILERS!"
Last week, Alli decided to give her Parisian boyfriend Leo a second chance. Much to her best friend Jenna's disappointment, Leo has re-entered Alli's life to prove that his aggressive past will not be a part of their future. Jenna's skepticism and concern for Alli, though, has continued to cause palpable tension in their friendship. Jenna seems to think that Leo's true colors will outshine his charm.
Desperate to prove to her friends that Leo's actually a good guy, Alli decided to invite him to Degrassi's Beach Bash dance. At first, Leo was all "I don't wish to be tested" (DUDE, you are ALREADY on thin ice), but then he decided to show up and play nice. Actually, he was quite wonderful to Alli's friends, dazzling Clare and Jenna on the dance floor and even making friends with Dallas (who was the supposed reason for Leo's infamous altercation with Alli in the first place).
Leo definitely made it difficult to either hate him or love him this episode. I mean, things seem to be looking up, but when violence is ever involved, second chances still feel a bit too generous to me. What about you guys? Are you divided on the issue? Do you think he's actually on the path to redeeming himself?
SLEEPLESS IN DEGRASSI
You'll remember that the Fall Chapter premiere ended with quite the cliffhanger: Drew, under the influence of his sleeping pills, called Zoe and said some quote, unquote "pretty sexy stuff." As if sweet-talking Zoe wasn't enough damage, Drew also unknowingly invited her to the dance... Yes, the same Drew who is very engaged to Bianca.
Zoe, hoping to save face from her embarrassing moments (you'll recall the coffee incident and when Miles called her a "re-run"), already bragged to Miles, Maya, and Tristan about her new "fling" with Drew. And when the truth about Drew's actual relationship status came to light, Zoe wasn't about to back down and risk being embarrassed by her ex-boyfriend / arch-nemesis again. So, she did what any other reasonable girl would do! She bribed Drew with contraband sleeping pills (since his doctor stopped prescribing them) in exchange for a date to the dance. A brilliant, fool-proof plan, right?
Wrong. Drew showed up to the dance high as ever, started hallucinating, and jumped into baby pool that he mistook for an ocean. Uh... #ICameInLikeACannonball? But when the rest of the school laughed at Drew's unsettling, but slightly hilarious episode, Clare came in and showed serious concern for him. She saw that something deeper was plaguing him, and that he's really struggling over the loss of Adam.
It made me happy to see Drew and Clare connect this episode because even though Drew's issues have manifested themselves in (admittedly) amusing ways, he hasn't been able to face the root of his problem. Perhaps Clare will be a game-changer for Drew on his path to healing.
OH, REMEMBER ME?
Hands down, one of the best parts of this episode was welcoming back Zig. (So good to see you, Zig! *waves* My, how you've grown!) Even though Maya and Miles were flirty-birdies pretty much the entire episode, that moment when Zig planted his eyes on Maya at the dance brought back SO many feels. Do you remember when Zig told Maya that he would wait for her? Ugh, crush my heart into a thousand pieces! Since Zig was unaware of Maya's budding relationship with Miles, though, I'm really interested to see what will happen. Do you think Miles is right for Maya? Do you think there's too much baggage with Zig? Only time will tell...
Okay, we've spilled our thoughts and we've posed our questions. Now it's your turn! Tell us what you thought of 'You Got Me' and let's get the conversation going! Take it away in the comments!
P.S. Here's the music from last night. Head out over our Spotify playlist to hear all the tunes!

We're so excited for an all-new Degrassi, that we decided to give you a sneak of TWO scenes from this Thursday's episode!
In the clip, Alli invites Leo to Degrassi's Beach Bash dance. But when Leo finds out that Alli's friends know him as "the guy who gave her bruises," he defensively refuses her invitation. For a guy who's already skating on thin ice, will Leo actually get on the path to redemption?
Drew's sleeping problems continue to get in the way of his responsibilities. Dallas offers to help him plan the dance, but it remains to be seen if Drew will actually get to the root of the problem.
What do you all think is going to happen this week? Let us know in the comments, and don't forget "You Got Me" premieres this Thursday at 9PM ET!

Come one, come all, old and new Degrassi fans! This Friday at 10PM ET, we're airing three classic episodes of Degrassi featuring the guy YOU used to know as Jimmy Brooks! That's right, Aubrey Graham is making a comeback on the TeenNick airwaves for some major Degrassi nostalgia. Oh, and also, we dug into the TeenNick archives to bring you some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from when one of the biggest rappers in the world was just a kid palling around in those hallowed Canadian halls. You're not going to want to miss this.
Here is the lineup:
Episode 203—Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Jimmy and Spinner plot to beat Marco in a dance competition that will be held at the Seniors Dance. However, both their egos become inflated and they decide to go solo, and both friends try to sabotage each other. Oh, and Jimmy dresses up as Michael Jackson.
Episode 604—Can Hardly WaitSince the shooting, Jimmy has to get used to his body not working the same way. It becomes especially difficult when he tries to get intimate with his girlfriend, Ashley.
Episode 704—It's Tricky
Ever the sidekick, Ashley tries to re-start her music career as the star. She calls on Jimmy to collaborate with her, but will Jimmy's rap skills take center stage? I mean......

Degrassians, school is back in session and SO much has already happened! We are bracing ourselves for a wild ride this season, but, really, we wouldn't have it any other way. The Fall Chapter premiere "This Is How We Do It" was chock-full of everything that makes Degrassi great: hi-jinks and capital D-Drama! Check out our recap below, but if you haven't seen the episode, make sure you watch it online first!
But right in the middle of his pump-up speech, Drew collapsed on stage. Throwing his loyal constituents into panic mode, the entire school ran to his side to help him regain consciousness. (And by "entire school" we're mostly referring to the fawning freshman girls who offered to carry his books.)
Dallas, worried about his best lad, asked Drew if his collapsing had anything to do with the fatigue he'd been suffering lately. We learned that since Adam's death, Drew's had tremendous trouble sleeping, and after mentioning that he was prescribed sleeping pills that he had yet to take, we immediately knew this was the beginning of something fishy.
Over in science class, Alli revealed that she had a secret date planned for after school. Coming off of an intense break-up with Leo, both Jenna and Clare were convinced (and pretty stoked) that she was finally giving Dallas a chance. Alli refused to reveal the mystery man, though, saying that she wanted to make sure "it's for real." Hmm... seemed pretty clear that there was another reason she hid his identity. All we have to say is: "Secrets secrets are no fun." And honestly, when it comes to Alli, they NEVER END WELL.
After Principal Simpson welcomed diva-star Zoe to Degrassi, it became pretty clear that she was not happy to be there. Then, in the biggest reveal of the episode, we learned that Zoe actually got kicked off of West Drive. Ya'll, Zoe has some secrets that are bound to come out, and if anything, it looks like we can expect to learn a lot about her character.
Drew's insistence, however, was more than just wanting to hula down and tiki-party his pants off. He didn't overtly say it, but we can safely guess that anything having to with Adam is still very difficult for Drew to stomach. Of course, it seems like Clare's idea is well-intentioned and noble, but shouldn't we also be sensitive to the fact that Drew is still clearly still fragile?
Over in love quadrangle land, Miles entered his first class at Degrassi brazenly asking Maya if she had any "girlfriend recommendations" for him. I'm sorry, girlfriend recommendations? Come on, who says that? Even if it was a joke, Miles, you're lucky you're cute. Maya went along with it though, having responded quite flirtatiously. It was actually getting a liiiitle steamy. Dare we say it appears our predictions are playing out as we expected?
Then, much to Miles' and Maya's surprise, Zoe entered the classroom. Unaware that his ex-girlfriend would be attending Degrassi, Miles had an awkward exchange with Zoe while Maya and Tristan looked on. I don't know about you guys, but it weirdly almost felt like they were ganging up on her.
Zoe tried to go back to her locker and escape the uncomfortable situation when the teacher calmly asked her to take her seat. In a PAINFULLY typical move, Zoe retorted by intentionally spilling her iced coffee all. over. him. Goodness gracious, as we if had any doubt that the after-effects of the Paris drama would follow us home...
In one of the biggest "OMG" moments of the entire episode, Leo traveled from Paris to Toronto to be with Alli. The last time we saw them together was at the end of last season when a severe altercation left Alli bruised and in tears. Suffice to to say say, we're skeptical and worried that by welcoming Leo to stay in Toronto, Alli is giving him a second chance he doesn't deserve... even if the scene in which they reunited was undeniably cute. Ugh.
When Principal Simpson threatened to expel Zoe for the iced coffee assault, her mother vehemently claimed that Zoe's behavior was the result of a learning disability. It's unclear whether or not this information is true or was merely a lie to keep Zoe from being expelled, but her mother's intensity gives us some insight into where Zoe might get her attitude. I mean, she was intense and pretty unforgiving! What do you all think? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree? Or too early to tell?
Meanwhile, after speaking again with Dallas about his trouble sleeping, Drew decided to take the sleeping pills. We quickly found out, however, that the pills have major side effects.
Drew fell into sleeping-pill stupor and unknowingly ordered supplies for the proposed beach bash before it was officially approved by Student Council. When Drew denied ordering anything, Clare sassily retorted with my personal favorite line of the entire episode: "This invoice says otherwise!" So dramatic. So Clare. But more importantly, these sleeping pills were clearly messing with Drew, and wasn't looking good.
And then this happened. Drew chivalrously caught Zoe in his arms after she tripped walking backwards. And boy, it was a moment. But before you get Bianca on the phone, it wasn't quite the romantic gesture it appeared to be. The only thing Drew could do to damage control his careless purchase was get the Student Council vote to swing in his favor. His move was used to charm Zoe into attending the Student Council meeting for no other reason than to help him win the majority vote for the beach bash.
And win he did. To Clare's disappointment, the beach bash won out over Clare's proposed texting and driving campaign.
Drew's swoon tactics had repercussions, however. Due to the side effects of sleeping pills, Drew called Zoe that night and flirted up a storm with her. Actually, it was more than flirting. He basically professed his love for Zoe and whispered sweet nothings into the phone, like calling her a "cutie" and telling her she's the "prettiest girl."
Oh no no no, don't phunk with her heart.
What did you all think of the premiere? Anything we missed? Let us know in the comments!

Over the past week, we've collected all of your expert thoughts via Twitter on this upcoming season of Degrassi. You've predicted (with expertise and precision, we might add) all of the unlikely friendships, surprise hookups, and potential freakouts that could be in store this fall! And although you guys are by far most qualified to make such projections, we decided to take a stab at our own Degrassi fall predictions. Yep, we're pretty proud of them :)
1. WINSTON ARRIVES ON A UNICORN
He may have taken a back seat during all of the summer drama, but Winston is going to make an unforgettable entrance on his first day back at Degrassi.
2. VP CLARE INSISTS ON SEGWAY HALL TRANSPORTATION
This year, Clare is the Vice President of the school, and with positions of power come certain stipulations. Walking to class has simply become too pedestrian! (Pun absolutely intended.)3. MILES ASKS CLARISSA TO EXPLAIN IT ALL
After being dumped by both Maya and Zoe, Miles will travel back in time to ask Clarissa for advice on his love life. Her wisdom of the '90s and straight talking will be exactly what he needs.
4. BECKY BAKER GETS A RACY NEW 'DOShe's ready to shed her good girl image and chop off those blonde locks. Thankfully, this is as far as it will go.
5. DALLAS GOES ON A STUDY DATE WITH DORAHe said he needed a little extra tutoring in Spanish. She said, "Come on! Vmonos!"
So, what do you think? These predictions are pretty spot-on, right? Okay, maybe we let our imaginations run a little too wild, but that doesn't mean we won't be following our favorite Degrassians' every move this Thursday at 9PM ET! Right here on TeenNick is the place to be. And don't forget, we'll be marathoning the summer chapter all week so you can catch up before the premiere!Posted on 09/30/2013 by Rachel1016
