'Tis the season! Whatever holiday(s) are on your mind right now, we're adding one to the list: the joyful, boytastic, and utterly non-denominational celebration of Degrassi Manhood that is...
Every day for the next 12 days we'll be rhapsodizing about the specimens of Degrassi boyhood who made 2010 shine so brightly.
Our first Boy of Degrassi is... ♥Spinner♥.
In his own special, Spinner-y way, he's been an embodiment of what Degrassi is about. Remember when he was a homophobe... but learned to get over it for Marco's sake? The time he battled cancer and won? And all those times he messed up, but sought and found the forgiveness of his friends?
And of course we mustn't forget his "health food" boners; his hair (and his other hair, and his other other hair); the way he said "She used me for my body"; ... and of course, that time he married Emma (!). What have been your favorite Spinner moments/quotes/storylines? Drop them in the comments... let's have a Spinner party!
We leave you with this classic Spinner scene -- classic because it involves his charming candidness, an oh-so-Spinner reference to his junkular area, and a demonstration of that hard-won best buds forever bromance with Jimmy that always touched our hearts.
Also, the part where he flexes those guns doesn't suck.
Enjoy more Spinner-vision in our 12 Boys of Degrassi: Spinner playlist... chock full of Spinner moments and full episodes from the highlights of his tenure.
Keep calm though, because excitement makes him fart.

I know the rest of us are bummed we didn't win the sweepstakes, but when you read this interview with Kerri, I don't think you'll be sad that she won.
Kerri and two friends will be taking a trip with Free the Children, an organization "driven by over 1 million shamelessly idealistic youth" who build schools and other infrastructure in countries that desperately need them. In fact, Free the Children was founded by a 12 year old and his friends back in 1995 -- just the kind of guy who would be showing up on the HALO Awards now.
The Degrassi cast has gone on Free the Children trips for years... and now Kerri will be joining Degrassi stars on a trip that will change not just their lives, but the lives of children in need. Here's what Kerri has to say about it!
Congratulations!! What was the tweet was that you won with?
It said "I HALO by being part of an organization that helps youth with mental health problems."
Can you tell us a little about that organization?
It's called Youth Speaking Out, and they run as part of a group called Parent Support Network in Rhode Island. My boyfriend was actually in it since he was 8, and then when we started dating he was like, "I'd really like you to come with me." I was like, "OK Sure, I'll see what it's all about." I wish that they were more well known because they really do a lot of helpful stuff.
They used to only meet once a month because they didn't have enough money, but they just went back to being once a week, so we go every Thursday.
A lot of [the kids there] are from group homes. Or they used to be in group homes, and now they're sharing their experiences and try to help [the others] deal with the situations they're in. So they include people [like me] who aren't from that... I listen to the kids, to hear what it's like, [and I offer] the perspective of someone who's not in a group home.
And you're studying to be a medical assistant, so you can help people for a living?
Yeah. It's funny, when I went to my first week of classes they asked me where I saw myself with my degree in five years, and I told them I'd really like to be in another country helping less fortunate people with my medical degree. And now I'm going somewhere!
Have you been a Degrassi fan for a long time?
Uh, yeah. Since I was in like 7th grade. I've never stopped watching it.
Who are your favorite characters?
I always liked JT, but then I was so upset when he died, I was crying. And then I told myself every time they came up with new characters, "I'm never going to like anybody as much as I liked him. He was just the best character."
And then this season came out and now Eli's on it. I like him. [laughs] And so does everybody else. And I really like Jessica Tyler, she has such a good singing voice.
And don't you get to bring two friends? Who are you going to take?
Yup, I'm going to take my boyfriend and my friend Kathy, because she always talks about how she's always wanted to be in Africa. And she's like "I'll never get to go, it costs so much money." [Since Africa's on the list of places we could end up going,] I called her and was like "You're coming with me."
It's so crazy, I never win anything! When they called me I said, "Is this a joke?" I can't win tickets off the radio, but I can win something as big and life-changing as this!

By now maybe you heard about our How Do You HALO Sweepstakes. You can get all the details about it and enter to win over here.
I love this sweepstakes for two big reasons. The first is that I'm looking forward to reading all of your tweets about how YOU Help And Lead Others, and all the big and small things you're doing in your own life to make the world a better place. Just looking at some of the first entries now, I'm finding out about all the recycling clubs you're members of, the animal shelters you're volunteering at, and the wonderful organizations you support. I feel so good about the world's future just hearing from all of you.
And the second big reason is that I think the grand prize is truly priceless. This trip that the winner and his or her friends are going to take... it's a journey that I really do believe will be life-changing.
Doing service like this in a place where it's desperately needed can't help but give you a new perspective on the blessings of your life. The feeling in the winner's heart after this trip... it's better than any money or limo or anything. It's the light. And to experience that light alongside cast members from Degrassi... y'all are going to bond. It's going to be for real.
We can all get a glimpse of that light when the 2010 TeenNick HALO Awards airs on December 10 at 8pm et. See you then.
Keep it locked,

Do you know Spinner's real first name? The name of the strip club where Alex worked? What Peter can say in Swahili? Who Gerry Halliwell is? The name of the song Fiona sang (badly) when she auditioned for the Degrassi musical?
That sort of random Degrassi knowledge will get you far in our newly-updated Degrassi trivia quiz. Each time you take the quiz, you'll get ten questions, but if you come back and take it again later, you'll get a different batch. The quiz pulls from all 10 season of Degrassi, so all that time you spent watching re-runs will finally come in handy.

Each of the brother-figures currently starring on Degrassi -- Sav, Declan, Adam, and Drew -- get high marks on their brotherly qualities like support, loyalty, protectiveness, and forgiveness.
Which of them do you think takes the title for Best Degrassi Brother though?

Aaugh! I was so excited about there being an Iron & Wine song in the Degrassi fall finale that I went into a coma and forgot to post this! Thank goodness Obsessive8 reminded me -- she was as psyched as I was about Iron & Wine. Anyhoodles, here are the songs from Friday's eps!
- "Sweet Mistake " by Adrianne
- "Impact" by And Then There Were Two
- "Infatuated" by Laila
You can hear samples of all three songs over on the Gigantic page.
- "Passing Afternoon " by Iron & Wine -- the song from the final scene at the party; you can hear a sample over on the Degrassi page. It's basically one of the most perfect songs e'er writ.
- "Hummingbird" by Imaginary Cities
- "Still Believe in Love" by Jacksoul
- "Burnin' Down Barns" by Ridley Bent
- "Keep On Movin'" by The Young Goulets
- "Red Lights" by Fantasy Defender
- "Psychic Kids" by We Are Wolves
- "Whitehorse (instrumental)" performed by Ray Ablack and Jessica Tyler (Sav and Jenna)
What did you think of the fall finale? You can Watch the full ep here if you missed it.
HOW PSYCHED does this promo for the next season make you?
Adam, Degrassi's female-to-male transgender student, is played by Jordan Todosey, who's a girl in real life -- that's her in her lady gear in the pic! I caught up with her on-set and we talked about the challenges of her role, and life in general.
So, how do you get into guy mode? How do you psych up to be Adam?
Well, I obviously get changed, and they style my hair and take off any existing make-up on my face -- it's kind of like a whole rundown that happens. And then, I just get on the guy swag you know? Just get into his mindset.
Did you spend a lot of time studying how guys move? Yeah, looking at some of my guy friends and the fact that they look a girl up and down every time she walks by, and just all the silly little things that they do.
Do you have to stay in your Adam mindset the whole time you're on set or can you go in and out of it pretty easily? When the cast chills for lunch or goes off set, I do tend to turn into a bit of a girl, complimenting on girls' outfits like "Oh that skirt's so cute!" or whatever. But really, just being in the clothes keeps me in the guy thing.
So do you have to wear a full-on binder on your chest the whole time you're in wardrobe? Yeah, I'm wearing it right now... It's not the comfiest thing, I will admit. But it's there just to, well, flatten the boobs! I'm getting used to it, but I definitely wouldn't choose it over something else.
Do you consider yourself a girly girl in real life?
You know, I've always grown up hanging with the guys and stuff. So because I have a history of being such a tomboy, I can kind of incorporate some of that into Adam. But off set now... I'm kinda girly. I'll admit I love pink things.
And since you had to cut off all your hair, I'm sure it makes you want to wear more make-up.
Yeah, exactly that! With my hair shorter, I feel like I have to accent the make-up and the heels and stuff more so.
So, like a lot of the audience, I'm sure you didn't know much about what it means to be transgender before you saw these scripts, right? No. I was vaguely aware, but I didn't know too much about it. But I did some research. And the writers did most of the research, so it's good to be able to trust them.
What are the top one or two things you've learned about transgender people since playing Adam? You know, they're like anybody else. They're regular people who just feel in the head like they're a guy or a girl and they were just born in the wrong body. And they're awesome people to hang with from what I hear! I like Adam... I mean, he's great, right?
Totally! I'd be friends with him!
So would I!
Were you scared at all to take on this role?
Of course, joining a pre-established cast was a bit intimidating, and having such an important role to portray was also really intimidating. But I just go out there and do what I can, and hopefully I portray Adam with authenticity.
What are your favorite movies and music and books?
Right now I'm reading Annabelle, and music-wise I'm really enjoying Ex Ex and Keys N Krates lately.
I love the relationship between Adam and Drew and the way Drew is such a supportive brother. What's your family like? I actually have a younger brother who's 10 years old now, and although he can be a pain in the butt sometimes, I love him to death and he's really sweet. He makes people laugh all the time, he's definitely a jokester. My family's really tight -- yes, we get in each other's way a bit but at the end of the day we all love each other.
Four big ol' pics of the boy you (and Clare) love to love. Happy fall finale night -- Degrassi's at 9p et, and there's a full hour of Gigantic starting at 9:30p et!
Some tweeterers were asking for us to put this commercial online -- the one where Aislinn's holding an umbrella and it's a mish-mosh-morph of pictures of our beautiful wonderful TeenNick stars. Found it!
