Sometimes for work, I have to look through lots of pictures and pick out the cutest ones.
I found some VERY cute pictures of Aislinn Paul (Clare), Luke Bilyk (Drew), Alicia Josipovic (Bianca) and Munro Chambers (Eli) on the set of Nowhere to Run. Here they are, nice and big.
If Clare's mom marries the cabin's owner, does that mean Clare and the cabin can't date?
Drew looks happy to be at the cabin... at least while it's light out.
If I had a cabin, I would totally let Bianca visit. (I bet she could protect me from the bears.)
When you're in the country, it's important to always have a farm animal on your shirt. Right, Eli?
See all that cuteness in action next Friday! Degrassi: Nowhere to Run is coming to TeenNick, Friday, Nov. 18 at 9pm et.

So, in this video, Munro Chambers tells us all about his real-life Now or Never moment -- a moment that decided whether or not we would ever see him on Degrassi! -- and then Justin Kelly feeds him a pear.
You should probably definitely watch it.
And don't forget! After tonight's Degrassi: Now or Never finale, you only have a few days to catch up on all of the full episodes in HD right here. Because after Labor Day (which, by the way, will also be a 9a to midnight et Degrassi: Now or Never marathon), the full archive comes down.
So do your eye stretches, get settled, and hit play.

*Raises hand* Things are about to get spoilery, so don't read any further unless you've seen "Take a Bow, pt. 1."
Eli and Fiona, locker leaners.
It reeeally sucks for Fiona that her closest friends are graduating and that her ex (whom she still maybe-kinda-sorta likes) is seeing someone else. I bet it also feels pretty terrible to buy your ex's painting and then realize a few minutes later that you're going to be sad every time you look at it.
I cried when Fiona relapsed and called herself "unlovable." She looked so sad and hopeless sitting on the balcony. Someone needs to invent a huggable TV, because I keep wanting to hug mine while I'm watching Degrassi.
I have to say though... Fiona ISN'T unlovable. She's just sad. She's the kind of sad where you convince yourself that you're unlovable, which might be the worst kind of sad, because you feel like you can't even call your friends -- because you're sure they're not really your friends, because you're unlovable. I hate-hate-hate that downward spiral of sadness. I hate seeing Fiona that sad. I hate the thought of *anyone* feeling that sad.
Fiona might feel unlovable, but in reality, she's just so sad that she's not thinking clearly. I wish she had picked up the phone when Holly J called. Or I wish she had called Eli (he's been through so much lately, he definitely wouldn't judge her). She could've called her mom, or Declan, or her therapist. I just wish she'd given someone -- anyone -- a chance to be there for her.
Think Fiona's week will improve? Or will prom and graduation just bring out more sadness? I'm almost afraid to find out.

SPOILERS BELOW! Watch "Don't Panic, pt. 2" before reading.
OK. I have two things I want to touch on from tonight's Degrassi episode.
#1: This face. Drew making this face when Katie picks her "best friend" Marisol to be her V.P.:
Drew is sooo excited to spend lots and lots of quality time with Katie's bestest buddy Marisol!
Poor Drew. Can't blame him for not wanting to have much to do with Marisol. Do you think Katie and Marisol's friendship should be over at this point? Or do you and your best friends work through really bad fights all the time?
#2: Eli! Get out of the sweat lodge! I mean, I appreciate his enthusiasm for "doing the right thing" for Cake but OMG, a little privacy while they work through their issues, maybe? Him injecting himself into their relationship like that did not feel 100% healthy to me, even though I know he's at least given up on the notion of getting Clare back. Your thoughts?

SPOILERSSSSSSSS BENEATH. LOOK OUT. Watch "Extraordinary Machine, pt. 2" before reading.
The vast majority of people in our 'Does Eli have a shot?' Facebook poll yesterday said that while Clare isn't 100% over her feelings for Eli, she's definitely done dating him. And based on tonight's ep (and on E!'s interview with Aislinn Paul), that sounds about right to me.
I'm curious what the hardcore "no retreat, no surrender!" E-Clare shippers out there are feeling after this episode. Those final moments -- Clare putting a stamp of finality on things ("I'm just glad... he and I can go our separate ways."), followed by Clare making the following face:
Eli and Clare can "go their separate ways" now. What would you call this emotion? Uncertainty? Peace? Regret? Wist?
... followed by Eli walking out of Degrassi feeling like he now finally has a shot at getting his life back under control, while Clare watches silently:
Eli, finally ready to move on. What's Clare feeling here?
Holy poignancy! Did any of the hardcore E-Clare fans get any sense of closure out of tonight's ep? Let us know in the comments...
Oh, and speaking of poignant. Oh my God. Jenna and KC watching Tyson get carried out of their lives? That was the worst. I know I wasn't the only one doing the ugly cry watching that scene. And Jenna just looked numb. I'm sure she has yet to really fully process her emotions about it, even if she feels sure they made the right decision. (Makes you think about what Holly J's birth mom went through when she gave her up -- wasn't Holly J eleven months old, too?)
What's crazy is: that scene destroyed me, and yet it can't even hold a candle to the true level of sadness that moment would rise to in real life.
It's especially hard because they had no happy options left. Raise Tyson, constantly struggling... to complete high school (if Jenna could ever really make it back at all), to make enough money to live on, to find any time to take care of their own needs (such as for instance, "having any fun")? Or give up Tyson, and break their own hearts to tiny, sad, little pieces in the process.
The only happy options they ever had existed before they ever got pregnant. They could have held off on sex, or they could have used protection every single time.
Jenna and KC bawl after saying goodbye to Tyson

SPOILER WARNING: Don't scroll down unless you've seen "U Don't Know, Pt. 1."
If you loved Eli and Clare as a couple on Degrassi, how are you holding up this summer? Last week, we had lots of Clare and Jake "cake-out" sessions... and tonight things got pretty steamy during Imogen's audition.
If you consider yourself an Eclare fan (or ever did), please answer the following questions:
1.Do you think Eli and Clare will get back together?
2.How long do you think Clare and Jake will last as a couple? Is Jake a rebound for Clare?
3.How do you feel about Eli and Imogen's big ole kiss tonight? (He didn't kiss Sadie during her audition.)
4.Imogen was pretending to be Clare during that kiss. On a scale of 1 to incredibly-freaking-weird, how weird is that?
5.How will you feel if Eli and Imogen start dating? Do you see it as a rebound thing or do they have real potential?
I know we've got some really sensitive Degrassi fans out there, so if any of you are having a tough time coping as Eli and Clare kiss other people, I just want you to know that the whole Degrassi community is here to support you. Feel free to discuss your feelings in the blog comments, on the message board, on Facebook, or Twitter. We're here for you.
p.s. If you've got something to say about Holly J's health situation or the Adam / Katie storyline, feel free to share your thoughts on those, too. (Holly J was trending worldwide on Twitter tonight! Nice job, HJ.)
Elmo or Elimogen or Imogeli or whatever you want to call them.

DREW AND BIANCA: It took some pretty extraordinary circumstances to do them in, but now it appears that Drianca are over. I talked to Luke Bilyk and Alicia Josipovic about the break-up, and they were as bummed as some of you guys out there about it:
Alicia: We were SO UPSET.
Luke: After we did that scene, we were like, "So, Stefan. We're getting back together, right?"... It was really rude of Drew to do that, especially after all that Bianca's done for Drew.
What do you think... was Drew rude? And do you think they'll get back together?
KC AND JENNA: So, Jenna's stuck in a pile of poo-protectors while KC gets to go to school -- and now a job -- with friends. How do you think things will go for them long term? Will Kenna figure it out and stay together until baby Tyson is old and gray?
ANYA AND OWEN: After a rough week, Anya is going for a sure thing. Do you think the fact that Owen is so into her will be good for her self-esteem? Or will he find some way to make things even worse?
ANNND CAKE. The mighty mighty Lumberjake has ambled into our lives, eaten Mrs. Edwards' food, and kissed Clare just to shut her up. Do you think he really is as "low drama" as he seems?
NEXT WEEK: We meet Imogen! And Katie! Plus some Ziley story, and two of my favorite eps from all of Now or Never.
And don't forget -- the Degrassi mobile game has already had its first update (and I officially suck at Degrassi skee ball... but I'm really good at making Eli like me.) It's only $0.99 in the app store at iTunes - just search for Degrassi.

SPOILERS BELOW! Watch the ep before reading... it'll be online some time tonight.
Without taking sides in the great E-Clare v Cake Debate of 2011 (well... except to say that I really want to have a serious sit-down talk with anyone who thinks a life-threatening stunt is "romantic")... now that you've met Jake, what do you think? I am personally a big fan of his low-drama vibe. And I like that rather than staring goggle-eyed at Clare when she had her petite tantrum, he "saved" her -- and made me laugh at the same time.
Also, how satisfying was Clare's rant at Above the Dot?! "IT TOOK YOU A YEAR... A YEAR TO GET OVER YOUR EX!" Not saying I've ever freaked out quiiiite like that in public at an ex before buuut... I'm sure I'm not the only one who's said some version of Clare's lines into my tear-stained pillow after a brutal break-up. I'm glad Clare took one for Team Frustrated Girls Everywhere and just said it all out loud.
What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done in the throes of heartbreak?
And how about KC and Jenna? Couldn't help but feel a little "GO JENNA" when she showed up and handed Tyson to KC. Dude is a little tone-deaf about how much of Jenna's life is completely on hold while he goes to school every day.

How has it been working with Justin Kelly (who will play Jake) again?
Outstanding. He's a very very good friend of mine -- we worked together on a previous show -- and it's great. He's a talented actor, and to work with him again is a pleasure. Coming to work here every day is already the peak, acting-wise, for fun and enjoyment. But the fact that he's on makes it that much better, because it's family.
This must be a very different season for you, because last season most of your days were spent with Aislinn and now they're kind of... not.
Yeah, it's different. But I still... I still see her a lot. You'll see that in the season, we're still around each other, for better or worse.
What's your take on the new character Imogen? We're all so curious about her.
She's awesome. Really deep. I feel like there's so much to her that we don't know yet, she's a really complex character, played beautifully by Christine Prosperi. It's a very awkward character but at the same time very confident. It's really right in the middle. And Christine is so unlike Imogen. She's doing a fantastic job.
How do you feel about where Eli's going this season?
Eli... since the finale when he crashed his car, obviously something "upstairs" is not tightened properly. It's a very difficult time for him right now. I feel like Clare's trying to get over it, he's trying to get over it, they're both denying some stuff, and you're gonna see him go into kind of a dark place. But at the same time, good comes out of it. You're going to see a side of Eli that has been brewing inside of him, that a lot of people aren't ready for. What we saw in the finale was a glimpse.
Do you miss Morty?
I really do! I remember there was a scene where I'm driving in my dad's car, which is a very beautiful car, but I was like "I miss driving that hungry monster of a car!" So good. I miss him. I want him back.
Where is Morty now?
I think he's back in Newfoundland. He's a '63 Cadillac I think? But yeah, he's from Newfoundland; I met the guy who owns him, and he's a pretty sick dude. He's like 28, 29, he's not like this elderly guy who just drives around this old hearse. Apparently he drove it to prom and stuff! I wish Eli had gotten to do that.

Hi all. The lady in that picture is Olivia Bee. She's a professional photographer who's still in high school -- she's 17 -- and she took all of the gorgeous still photos at the Degrassi: Now or Never teaser shoot with all the fireworks and whatnot. We like her very much. Especially after talking to her. (Btw, most of this interview is about the life of a teenage professional photographer, but if you just want to skip to the part about the Degrassi shoot, click here.)
So, first of all, how did you start getting paid to do photography while you're still in high school?
Well, my freshman year in high school I got a bunch of emails from VSA Partners, and I kind of disregarded them because I was like, "That's probably spam, whatever." And then I got an email from Converse directly and they were like, "Hey, we'd love to have you take some photos on a shoot, kind of a mentoring process and we'll pay you, and it'll be really fun," blah blah blah, so I got to skip school and go on a shoot in Portland for Converse. And I just got to experiment and see what it was all about, take some photos, and then everything just kind of followed. They took a chance on me and now, this is happening.
That's amazing. How did they find you, Flickr?
Wow. Did you already have a ton of contacts on Flickr before that?
Yeah, I had a lot of followers, and that came with the popularity I guess. It was all pretty much by luck.
Were you nervous at all? Does any of this faze you? It sounds like it could be really intense.
It is intense. Before I worked with Converse I was so nervous. I didn't even want to go, I was so scared. I was like, "What are they gonna think of me? I'm totally not gonna be able to take pictures once I get there because that's just what'll totally happen to me." But it was fine. I'm always a little nervous right before, if things aren't working out, or if there's no schedule, or the shoot is disorganized. But if I'm just taking pictures then I'm totally fine.
New Degrassi guy alert: Jake, played by Justin Kelly
I would imagine there's a huge difference between taking pictures of your friends in a relaxed atmosphere and like "Well, we're on a deadline, and these people are only here for four hours, and you need to get the shot."
It's really different. It's like I have to be an adult, I have to transfer from being this stupid kid who just hangs out with her friends all the time and I have to be a professional, and I have to deliver. There's a lot of pressure, actually. But as long as I'm still taking pictures I can deal with it, because that's what I do for fun anyway.
Has anybody ever been snotty to you because you're 17? Or underestimated you?
Yes. All the time. I get so much snottiness. People just think I'm like a little kid, and 'why are they paying her to do what all these other people can do; why would they ever hire someone who's that old; she's never gone to college."
You just brush 'em off?
I'm just kinda like F.U.
Haha, word! So how did you fall in love with photography in the first place? Well, I took a darkroom class in 6th grade because I went to an arts-based middle school. And I really was really bad at it at first. I took a lot of pictures of Christmas ornaments and stuffed animals, things it wouldn't be embarrassing to take pictures of. And then I just started spending extra time in the darkroom -- I don't know, it was kind of an accidental, found love. But now I can't live without it.
How do your friends feel about being photographed all the time?
I think they like it? I guess some people are annoyed like "Aw, why do you have that camera again" but it's just playful, not pissed or anything. Most of the time, they really like it. It's kinda cool, they're like the characters of my life and I think they realize that. And no one takes family photos anymore so the moms like it, too.
I have friends who are videographers or photographers who always have a camera at any event, and they've told me how people are sometimes like "Oh God, put down the camera and just experience this" but the next day, everyone's SO psyched that the pictures and video exist.
TOTALLY. Totally. The whole "Time" thing. [By this I assume she means like capturing time, time being linear. You know. The whole Time thing.] Plus, I feel like, people can say that to me, but it's like "No, this is MY way of experiencing it. This is how I want to experience everything." It's not their deal, it's mine.
What is awesome about photography?
There are a million moments you could capture, but capturing that one that's perfect... it's pretty amazing. You can make a whole other world with things you already have. It's... it's like real life on paper. Or fake life on paper, depending on how you look at it.
Does having a camera ever help you meet people?
Oh yeah, all the time. It's mostly short little conversations, but I like short little conversations.
So. This Degrassi shoot. What was that like?
It was crazy. 'Cause I'd never been on a TV set before. Usually still production [as in still photography, vs. video] is: a producer, you have your assistants, you have your gaffer, the stylist, the make-up artist, and then I'll have a studio teacher. But with this there were like 150 people and they all had different jobs and that was just crazy for me.
A studio teacher -- so even if it's a one-day shoot you have to have a studio teacher because you're a minor?
It depends on what state, but yeah. California, definitely.
Were you already a Degrassi fan?
We actually watch it in Health class at school. Usually episodes about STDs or relationships, violence... because Degrassi covers a lot of teen health things like that. Usually we had a separate episode for each lesson but sometimes we would just watch it, just 'cause.
Your health teacher sounds awesome.
What do you remember from that day?
Well, it was freezing. It was going from like 7pm to 5am, which, I'd never done that before! I had a 4:20 am call time a couple weeks ago but this was like ridiculous.
Oh, and it was actually pretty funny... when they were filming the scene where Sav was standing on the lifeguard chair swinging his jacket around and there were all these fireworks going on, and since they weren't filming for sound, he was just kind of yelling things because it was supposed to look like he's yelling. And he was just like "[BAD WORD] DEGRASSI! THESE KIDS SUCK!"
Hahahaha. I love that guy. Did you have favorite characters or favorite episodes before?
Now I've met them and I can't pick favorites! I like 'em all, they were really sweet in person, too. It was really nice to know that they weren't stuck-up or anything.
