  • Degrassi Fan Favorite: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

    Posted on 06/14/2013 by Lisa

This week, we asked fans to vote on Degrassi's best dance episode, and the winner is... Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. We put the full episode online, and it's definitely worth watching.

Flashback to Eighties Night at Degrassi! There's so much to see in this episode. It includes Jimmy, Spinner, Marco, J.T., Toby, Paige, Liberty, Hazel, Ashley, Terri, Emma, Manny, and lots of other Degrassians, all decked out in their best '80s fashions. (Yes, this is the one where Jimmy dresses up as Michael Jackson.)

    Watch the full episode here:

    Emma and Manny
"We haven't had this much fun since... well, EVER." - Manny, after sneaking into the seniors' dance.

    Spinner, Paige, and Hazel
"You are goin' down, homie. I am so pumped. I can nail this." - Spinner, before competing in the dance off.

Eighties Night is a Degrassi dance to remember... and we also have one to look forward to next week! Don't miss The Time of My Life, an hour-long Degrassi prom and graduation special, Friday, 6/21, at 9pm et / 6pm pt.

  • Degrassi: The Best First Date Episode Winner!

    Posted on 05/03/2013 by Lisa

The winner of this week's Fan Favorite Friday poll is Sean and Emma's first date, as seen in "Friday Night." (Eclare's first date was a close second.) Watch the full episode of "Friday Night" online:

Sean and Emma are my all-time favorite Degrassi couple, and I love getting to revisit the episode where they first got together. It's crazy to think that even a soulmate-level relationship like theirs begins with the line, "Maybe we could hang out."

Next week, we've got another poll coming your way! Like Degrassi on Facebook so you won't miss out.

  • Emma and Spinner got MARRIED!

    Posted on 07/20/2010 by Lisa

I've been watching the results of today's TeenNick poll, and it seems like the world is pretty evenly divided between people who are happy Spinner and Emma got together, and people who think they're a terrible match. Check out these photos from their wedding day (and this video, if you haven't seen it!) and sigh or cringe as you see fit.

Spike and Snake walking Emma down the aisle

Jay in a purple tie. *sigh*

Look at them staring dreamily into each other's eyes!

    Rockin' out, wedding-style.

No matter what you think of them as a couple, don't you just love beachy outdoor weddings? Yay for standing barefoot in the sand with someone you love. :)

  • Are friend breakups worse than the bf/gf kind?

    Posted on 06/30/2010 by Lisa

Best friends forever?Remember "Against All Odds," the Season 3 Degrassi episode where Emma and Manny decide not to be friends anymore? (If not, check it out tonight @ 7:30pm.) Their "breakup" is pretty harsh.

It's hard to watch girls who've been best friends for years have a conversation like this:

Emma: You don't want to be friends?
Manny: Not with a stuck-up prude princess.
Emma: Good, because I don't want to be friends with the school slut.

Have you ever been through a friend breakup? (Feel free to share your story if it's not too painful.)
Did you and your ex-friend ever become friends again?

  • Degrassi: Reasons Not to Cheat

    Posted on 06/08/2010 by Mary

Sisters Before MistersRemember that time on Degrassi that Liberty -- organized, conscientious Liberty -- kind of sort of kissed Emma's boyfriend Damien? Just goes to show that all kinds of people can find themselves tempted to do such things. So just in case you ever find yourself in that position, here are three good reasons...

Why Not To Kiss Your Friend's Boyfriend (Even If He's Amazing and Even If You and the Friend Sometimes Have Weird Underlying Competitive Tendencies) (And Please, Feel Free to Switch These Gendered Pronouns with Ones of Your Choosing)

    1) Your friend will find out. They almost always find out. And you know what, even if they don't find out, that means you're faced with the unholy choice of either lying to your friend until the end of time, or confessing to her and reaping the well-deserved spite, loss of trust, and probable gossip.

    2) It's not worth it. As for the two reasons you might think it'd be worth it:
    a) Maybe you and the guy will end up together! BUT -- if you get together before he's officially and unequivocally ended things with his gf/your friend, you will never be able to trust him. You'll have watched him in the act of cheating and lying, and you'll know he's not just capable of it, he's kind of good at it. Sketchy.
    b) Maybe you don't want to end up together -- you just want to have a meaningless make-out. Really, though? You're really willing to risk (or interfere with) a real friendship over a meaningless make-out? That's kind of depressing, when you think about it.

    3) You'll be proud of yourself. You'll hold the moral high ground. And you'll be able to answer future paramour's questions of "have you ever cheated?" with a firm and honest No.

Have any reasons to add? Drop 'em in the comments.

  • Degrassi: Tag your friends on facebook!

    Posted on 03/26/2010 by Mary

Who's the Emma in your group of friends, and who's the Manny? Who's the Declan and who's the Holly J? We made some Degrassi photo grids for you to grab and tag your friends on facebook, or wheresoever you prefer tagging your friends. (And invite them over for brand new episodes April 2 at 9p et omg!)

Way too many people have graced the halls of Degrassi for one grid, so:

Here's the "new school" version: Holly J, Declan, Fiona, Clare, K.C., Jenna, Sav, Anya, etc.

And here's the "old school" version: Manny, Ellie, Paige, Marco, Ashley, Emma, Craig, Sean, Jay, Heather Sinclair, etc.
