O say can you see how super-cool these patriotic nail art designs are?
Credit: Chalkboard NailsWe're totally digging how this basket weave design puts a whole new spin on traditional stars and stripes. It's playful, intricate and totally shakes up the red, white and blue patterns we're used to. Go ahead, surprise people this year! These nails will make you the star of any July 4th party.
Credit: Wondrously PolishedWho wouldn't love American flag nails with a fun and energetic twist? Loving the glossy swirl at the edges that give this design a candy-colored finish. Show your spirit by switching up between the classic stars and rose red stripes.
Credit: Pack A Punch Polish
As if the name didn't already suggest it, this mani can really pack a punch! The checkered diamond pattern reimagines the good ol' American flag through abstract eyes. Plus, the silver background just pushes this mani to the metallic edge. If you can nail down this design, you will be turning heads and celebrating the 4th in style.

ANTSY FOR THE WEEKEND
Credit: Estanina's Stand
Alright, so maybe you'll come across some uninvited guests at your BBQ this weekend, but if they're as cute as the one's on our girl Carla's fingers, we'll grant a hall pass. Also, is that a kiwi on her index finger? We're not entirely sure... but we are entirely into it. (P.S. how cay-ute is that gingham table cloth?!)

Let's face it: there's no more "easing into" the school year. The syllabi have been read, the tests have been scheduled and the studying is about to commence. We know all too well the the alluring (but oh-so dangerous) rabbit hole of internet and its ability to yank our productivity. But with these few study break ideas, you'll get the energy and reprieve you need without wasting time watching kitten videos! Check 'em out.
1. Go for a walk. Even if it's just a lap around the library, get the blood flowing. We promise, not only will you feel energized, but that great thesis statement may just pop in your head mid-step!
2. Paint your nails. So what if you're not a master manicurist? Painting your nails can be the perfect combination of a soothing and a self-pampering brain break. Step away from the small print textbook, and give your pretty paws a little love.
3. Have a snack. Trail mix and sliced apples with peanut butter are snackable gifts to the universe. Take advantage of the satisfying, stimulating, healthy snacks. Or if you're looking to reward yourself for a solid few hours of hard work, fill up your favorite mug with hot chocolate and tiny marshmallows for a perfect (almost) cold-weather treat.
4. Buy a coloring book. Don't you miss the days when your biggest concern was coloring in the lines? Take a break with this mindless, but still creative activity.
5. Have a dance party. Gather a few of your friends for a mental shakedown with your favorite energizing songs. If you need a little help finding some pump-up tunes, we've got a few TeenNick Top 10-approved suggestions for you.
What will you be doing to take a break while you study? Let us know your tips and tricks in the comments!

Can you believe in a couple weeks you'll be stowing away your bathing suits and sunscreen until NEXT YEAR?! Summer just started, am I right?
Unfortunately... no. In fact, it's actually time to get in the back-to-school spirit! (Yep, we said it!) But here's the thing: TeenNick back-to-school is all about getting excited to go back to class. No sighing, groaning, or any other unexplained negative noises here because we have some awesome nail art to turn those end-of-summer frowns up-side-down.
Credit: The Daily Nail
Our girl Melissa, over at The Daily Nail definitely knows what's up! Just look at those perfectly painted pencils. Don't they make you excited to sharpen a brand new box of shiny No. 2s? We can smell the shavings all the way over here!
BACK TO SCHOOL = BACK TO STYLE
Credit: The Nail Trail
Nothing says "I'm ready to take on a new school year" better than a stylin' new wardrobe, but you better believe that includes a well-stocked polish pantry. Something tells us we should be taking notes from this nail art guru because her designs scream style with a side of confidence!
Credit: The Daily Nail
Talk about an over-achiever! We think this manicure deserves an A+, don't you agree? It serves as a friendly reminder to try your hardest when doing your school work and when painting your nails!
THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM
Credit: Galactic Lacquer
Are you a bookworm babe? Well, next time you're about to sit down and pick up your favorite pleasure read, remember to take a glance at your nails! We love how each finger is one little part of this overall design. It'll add some flare to your afternoons spent reading and help you show off the inner you! Plus, we all know painted pinkies are key for being prepared for class.
SCHOOL SPIRIT: PUMPED FOR POLISH EDITION
We've got spirit yes we do, we've got spirit how 'bout you?! This year, instead of bringing an apple for your teacher on the first day of school, why not score the big points by fashioning some of our favorite back-to-school nail art designs. Just be sure to remember the #1 nail art rule: always stay class-y!

Its MAJOR crunch time over in Brazil as the end of the 2014 FIFA World Cup is upon us! If you haven't been keeping up with the soccer (or should we say, football?) madness, a total of 64 matches are being played in 12 cities across Brazil to see who will be the new world champions.
With 32 teams participating, it's now down to the final TWO: Germany and Argentina will duel it out in the championship game this weekend as Brazil and the Netherlands, who both came up short in the semifinals, will compete for third place. Here at TeenNick, we've been fiercely watching to see which team will bring home the cup. All we know is that it's gonna be a nail biter!
To celebrate the global soccer competition, we've asked some of our favorite nail artists to share with us World Cup nail art that represents the final four countries still in the tournament. And wow, are we impressed!
Credit: Ideias de Caroline
Unfortunately for Brazil, after winning 4 games and tying 1, they suffered a brutal 7-1 loss to Germany two nights ago. *Sheds tear* But, it's not over yet! We're still rooting for you, Brazil, in your final match against the Netherlands for third place. Here's hoping these festive green and blue nails with gold star decals get you in the zone just as much as they did for us!
Credit: Princess and Polish
Undefeated throughout this entire competition, Argentina has been killing it! With one of the world's best players on their side, Lionel Messi, Argentina is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the championship game. And look at those perfectly painted Argentinean flags. Don't the suns just scream winner?!
The Dutch have been pretty dominant on the field as well! Beating Spain, who were the defending champions of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, was a huge triumph for them. We're pretty sure they came back with a vengeance after they were the runner-ups to Spain in the 2010 finals. Their World Cup journey stopped short, however, after a brutal loss to Argentina in a penalty kick shoot-out. But that didn't stop our girl at lalalacquer from doing an awesome job of combining the Dutch flag with the country's famous tulips. Flowers on nails just never get old, do they?!
Credit: Little Red Loves
Talk about powerful! These nails definitely show the strength of Germany's team as they enter the finals against Argentina. The black, red and yellow ombre effect is definitely what we call FIERCE! And isn't the soccer ball just the perfect reminder of what this competition is all about? We're talking about the love of the game, of course!
During these final days we wish the remaining teams the best of luck! Fans, be sure to show your spirit. Again we'll be biting our nails in anticipation (or should we say painting them...)! Which
countrynail design are you rooting for?

Credit: Amber Did ItWhat we love most about this 4th of July nail art (other than the polka dots, of course) is that it's just begging to be recreated at home. You wont need any fancy stencils or brushes, just a steady hand and some glitter polish!
Credit: Dressed Up NailsUm, how cute are those bows? Major props to our gal at Dressed Up Nails for perfecting this intricate design!
