As Ed realized after drinking too many energy drinks, insomnia is the wooorst. Let's talk about Episode 9. (Watch it hereif you haven't seen it yet! *Spoilers below.*)
My random comments on this episode follow... Please post yours in the comments!
I wouldn't recommend this to any real-life students I know, but I secretly love that the SLiDE gang had a last-minute pool party at 5am on the day of their biggest final. That just seems like a nice way to start the day. Haha. I freaked out when Luke had a seizure though -- that image will stick in my head for a while. Life tip: If you get in a car accident, it's always a good idea to get checked out by a doctor. (Especially if your head is bleeding!)
Another image that will stick in my head: An over-caffeinated Ed trying to tear apart his little backyard club house with a sledgehammer.
As for the test itself, I was surprised when Luke put Ed's name on his paper. I'm very curious what kind of grade Luke/"Ed" got, since he tried to bet Tammy that he'd beat her. If Luke turns out to be some kind of Shakespeare genius, I will be very impressed. I think Tammy will, too.
I know it's a dorky thing to say, but I hope we find out their grades tonight on the SEASON FINALE of SLiDE! It's at 10pm et!!

In Episode 8, Ed found his dream girl and his dream car, but let's talk about what happened next! If you haven't seen the episode, watch it before you read any further. Spoilers below!
While I love Ed's bright yellow car (My car is yellow, too.), I understand that he can't take his dream girl to a fancy dance in a car that reeks. (My car, just for the record, smells nice.) While Ed's plan to break into the mall and cheat at winning the car was pretty sketchy, I loved how he urged his friends to help out for the sake of "future Ed and his stupidly hot wife." Haha. That's a pretty good argument. :)
I am NOT cool with the fact that Ed lied to Phillipa to get her to help, though. She may be dorky and annoying, but um... lots of people are. (*raises hand*) Ed treated her terribly in this episode. When he said that, as an old man, he'd look back on their "filthy treehouse scramble" and regret it, I felt like I was watching her heart break before my eyes. Painful stuff.
After everything Ed put Phillipa through, I think he deserved seeing that same "filthy treehouse scramble" on a giant TV at the mall, but of course, Tammy saw it, too. Tammy, Tammy, Tammy... You can do so much better than Ed! Let's cross our fingers and hope that instead of lowering her standards, Tammy finds someone who lives up to them.
Isn't this a great group photo? I love these kids. I'm going to miss them when SLiDE is over.
BTW, my favorite moment from tonight's episode was when Eva talked to her dad about being adopted, and she said, "Bet you sometimes wish you picked a different crib."
He replied, "We didn't get a choice. We just got lucky." Yup, I totally teared up at that.
Did you have any favorite moments from this episode? Let me know in the comments.

Let's talk about the pregnancy test, the tick, and everything else that happened in Episode 6 of SLiDE. If you haven't seen the episode, watch it before you read any further.
Why would a girl carry a positive pregnancy test around in her bag? Oh, right, because she's on a dramatic TV show, and if her bag spills out in front of her friends, it'll stir up all sorts of trouble.
During most of this episode, I felt like Scarlett was acting selfish and manipulative -- but I just remembered that the only reason she pretended the test was hers in the first place was because she'd never seen Eva look so scared. Deep down inside, Scarlett does care about other people! Of course, once she did that huuuuge favor for Eva, she found a way to make it work for her. I felt so bad for Luke when he thought she was pregnant, but I wish he had told Tammy the truth about hooking up with Scarlett right away.
If I were in Tammy's shoes in this episode, I would have freaked out even worse than she did about the Luke/Scarlett thing. I mean, she seemed angry, but... if I found out the guy I liked and one of my best friends had messed around on the couch in my house? I am shaking my head as I type this. Tammy needs a guy who won't hurt her. A nice guy, who's kind of dorky and sweet. (It sounds like I'm describing Ed, but I don't really see them together either... I want her to meet someone new.)
Ed had a rough time in this episode, too. As if it wasn't bad enough that he tried to fight an old man for the bathroom on the ferry (and LOST!), he got a tick bite in the worst possible place. This episode made me oh-so-glad that I'm not a guy -- especially at the very end, with that gross sound effect as the doctor pulled off the tick. Bllllararrrggggh. Poor Ed!
I can't end the post on that note, so let me also say: I loved the old woman who followed them off the ferry because she wanted to go to the music festival. The kids on this show seem pretty wild, but I get the feeling that lady might've been even wilder when she was their age. :)
New episodes of SLiDE air at 10pm et, Monday-Thursday this week. (If you've missed any episodes, get caught up!)

Is Scarlett really a "bad seed from a bad apple," as the principal says? Let's talk about Episode 7! (If you haven't seen it, watch it before you read any further.)
I feel like we got to know Scarlett a lot better in this episode, especially after she decided to move out and try to make it on her own. When she started searching for jobs online, and was looking for things like "personal shopper," I felt a tiny bit bad for her. She's lived such a sheltered, rich-girl life that she's completely out of touch with reality.
Tammy thinks that Scarlett gets everything she wants, but does she really? In this episode, she got her friends to blow off studying, she convinced Tammy's mom to let her move in, and she ended up getting exactly what she wanted from her parents. It's hard to be jealous of her, though, especially after what she walked in on at the hotel!
Did you notice that as soon as Scarlett was out of the picture, the rest of the group all went their separate ways? I'm glad she didn't end up moving back to Melbourne, because this show wouldn't be the same without her.
Lots more SLiDE is coming your way this week: New episodes air at 10pm et Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday! (Go here if you need to get caught up.)

On the latest SLiDe, the gang steal a statue and stir up all sorts of trouble. Watch it here if you haven't seen it.
Here are my favorite moments (and a few random thoughts) from Episode 5. Share yours in the comments.
I love this picture of Luke and Tammy.
Luke and Tammy seem so good together, despite their different attitudes about dating. Tammy wants "an understanding of the person I'm spending time with," but Luke cares more about the hooking up. I loved the scene where Luke tried to act sensitive to impress Tammy, and she saw right through it. My favorite moment from this episode was probably when she took pictures of his sulky face with her phone. Affectionate teasing is the cutest! :)
I'm glad they went with Eva to meet her brother.
I am SO glad Eva had friends with her when she went to meet her brother for the first time. That sounds nervewracking. Luke's family situation seems stressful, too. We've seen Tammy, Scarlett, and Ed's families in previous episodes... maybe lots of family drama is something these characters all have in common? (Or maybe it's something EVERYBODY has in common? Does anyone in the world have a "normal" family? Sometimes I doubt it.)
Yay for swimming in undies!
As someone who loves swimming, I would be shocked if one of my friends had a pool and never bothered to mention it. I totally understood everyone's need to rip off their clothes and jump in Luke's pool right away.
The gang looks for Ed's shoe.
I thought the funniest part of this episode was when Ed confessed his attraction to the lady voice in his dad's GPS system... and then later, his father asked "Have you seen the GPS? It's missing from the car." OH, ED. I totally ship Ed and the GPS, though. Maybe they'll fall in love and have babies with a really good sense of direction. Haha.
Tom the Fireman, lookin' stylish.
Stealing the statue seemed easy compared to how hard they had to work (and how sneaky they had to be) to give it back. Sometimes life is weird like that.
What did you like best about this episode?

Wanna see some pics from Episode 5 of SLiDE? Here you go:
Are Eva, Scarlett, and Tammy all running away with the same man?
License and registration, please. (How crazy is it that in Australia, the steering wheel is on the other side of the car?)
Luke and Tammy, just chillin'.
Ed and a statue. (Watch this scene early as a sneak peek!)
Episode 5 of SLiDE airs this Friday at 10:30pm et on TeenNick!

Things got wiiiild on SLiDE this week. Let's talk about Episode 4!(Haven't seen it? Watch it here.)
Tammy in a visor, Ed in a banana costume.
I feel like so much happened in this episode! I'm glad Ed walked away from the job where he had to dress as a banana, even if he looked pretty cute in that costume. (I just had a flashback to Tori and Zig talking about how bad the mascot costumed smelled on Degrassi. Yuck.)
Luke can rock a bowtie.
Catering seems like a lot more fun, especially when it involves hanging out in a mansion. The party didn't seem like fun for Ed's dad, though. His storyline made me sad, despite his big win at cards. :(
Speaking of dads, can you believe how Scarlett messed with her dad's head with that whole "Gisele" thing? Do you think he deserved it? It was pretty lame of him to tell such a huge lie in his online dating profile. I wonder if his relationship with Scarlett will ever get better. Maybe... if they stop lying to each other.
I want that blue bunny-lamb thing on the right.
On a happier note, it was neat to see the thrift store where Eva works, and I loved this bit of conversation:
Scarlett: "This is where clothes come to die. It's like a sad fashion graveyard."
Eva: "No, it's where fashion comes to be reborn and recycled."
(I'm with Eva! I love thrift stores. )
Rob and Ed? Their couple name could be Red.
Ed continues to be my favorite character on SLiDE. He had so many great awkward moments in this episode! From that unforgettable coat closet scene, to pretending to be "Louise" to get into the club, to the moment where he grabs his boss and kisses him... his life just keeps getting crazier and crazier, and I LOVE IT.
Luke and Tammy.
Tammy and Luke seem like they're finally getting together. No surprise there, but this episode was full of unexpected hook-ups: Scarlett and the girl in the club, Ed and his boss, Ed and Eva...
RANDOM QUESTION: In this episode, Ed was attracted to at least five people. Which one of them do you think he'd make the best couple with?
*Rob (his boss at the party)
*The naked lady statue
Pick one and tell me why you picked that person in the comments! (Also, if you feel like it, tell me what you liked best about this episode.)

Let's talk about Episode 3 of SLiDE! (Watch it here if you haven't seen it. Spoilers below!)
In this episode... Tammy and Ed spent some time alone in the dark. Eva met a guy (who's a LOT older). Luke and Scarlett bonded while babysitting.
Random thoughts about Episode 3, in no particular order:
1. Tammy's mom kills me!! I loved almost every word out of her mouth (though I'm sure I'd have died of misery and embarrassment if she were my mom and saying these things, especially if she said them in front of Luke). "There's condoms in the top drawer... and they're flavored, I think." Anybody out there have a mom who talks that openly about sex stuff? Is it cool or incredibly awkward?
2. The scene where you see Tammy trying to get a wifi signal on her laptop, and the screen shows us the signal level. I know that feeling SO WELL. I've balanced my laptop on many windowsills, but the fridge door thing? That seemed a little risky.
3. I love that Tammy has such good friends that when she mass-texted about her desperate need for a babysitter, ALL of her best friends showed up. Willingness to babysit at a moment's notice? That's true friendship.
4. Although I think Ash is WAY WAY WAY too old for Eva (he's got to be in his 40's and she's in high school!!), I really liked when he asked her if it was an "encore situation," and then explained what he meant. That was very cute, in a way that made me wish he wasn't WAY too old for her -- not to mention married. Sigh.
5. I sort of wish Eva could sneak me into an art museum at night. That sounds like a lot of fun.
6. I really liked the band name Last Dinosaurs, so I googled them, and what do you know? They're a real band. I thought they might just be a fictional band created for the show.)
7. I loved that Tammy's little brother likes wearing dresses.
8. I love the friendship between Tammy and Eva. It made me happy that Tammy left the rock show to check on Eva, and it made me even happier that Eva forced her to go back inside so she could write a good article about the show. YAY FRIENDSHIP!
What were your favorite moments from this episode? Don't miss Episode 4, Friday at 10:30pm et on TeenNick!

Episode 3 of SLiDE airs Friday at 10:30pm et. In the meantime, check out a few pictures from the new episode.
Ed makes a smooshy face.
Eva's lip stuff matches her hair.
Tammy makes me wonder if I need a denim vest. (If I get one, I'd be the only person I know who wears one.)
I kind of want to pat Luke's hair. Is that weird?

So, SLiDE is pretty good, right? If you haven't seen the show yet, watch Episodes 1 and 2 before you read any further.
I like how the first episode starts with everyone in trouble, because even though we KNOW how the night's going to end, I really wanted to know how they all got there.
I felt kind of bad for Ed from the start, because I think birthdays often come with expectations. It's like, it's OK if a normal day kind of sucks, but nobody wants their birthday to suck.
When Ed put the hair dye down his pants, I was like "Noooooooooooooo!" That was the most disturbing part of episode one in my opinion (though the scene where he pours milk down his pants to counteract the hairdye chemicals was a close second.)
As I discussed in my last Degrassi post, I'm not a fan of surprise parties, and this is yet another reason why. Ed had plans for an amazing birthday night, and thanks to his parents' lame surprise party, he missed out on the party Scarlett threw for him. I think between Clare's party on Degrassi, and Ed's party on SLiDE, TeenNick is making a point that surprise parties end in fights or misery, so DON'T THROW THEM. Haha.
It was too bad that Scarlett threw Ed the party of his dreams and he missed out on the whole thing, but I'm glad he ended up having a memorable night anyway. Dancing in sprinklers at night with friends is the kind of thing he'll remember forever. (I'm sure he'll remember getting busted, too, but at least he had a little fun first.)
My favorite quote from this episode is Tammy's line "I just caught them having hugs of the pants-down variety," after she walked in on Luke and Tammy messing around.
I get that Scarlett's dad wants everyone to clean the hotel after the party, but why-why-why would he let someone who's only had his driver's license for a day drive his limo? Even if Ed does "drive like a grandma," that's just a bad idea.
If I found a phone somewhere, the *only* thing I would use it for would be to find the owner and give it back. But I guess that wouldn't make for very good TV. Spending the day extorting money from strangers so Scarlett can repay her dad? That's much more adventurous than returning the phone right away. Isn't it fun watching TV characters make bad choices? :)
That little scene with the clown totally creeped me out. I'm just as freaked out by clowns as Ed is. I think Ed and I would totally be friends.
I thought the scenes between Luke and Tammy were really cute and romantic. I like Luke better with Tammy than with Scarlett.
OK, I know all sorts of crazy stuff happened between Grace and Ed (I'm just glad he made it out of her apartment in one piece) but I need to jump ahead and talk about that last scene. When I saw it, I was like "Whoa, Phillipa!!! WHAT are you doing?!!" One second she's hanging out with Ed in his backyard shed, and the next second, she's on top of him. I get that Ed really wanted to lose his virginity -- and apparently Phillipa did, too -- but IN A SHED? With a girl who seems to get on his nerves? And did she seriously record the whole thing on her phone?!! This show just gets crazier and crazier.
What do you think of SLiDE so far?
My overall comments: I love that each episode takes place in one day. I like all five of the main characters, and I like that they're each flawed in different ways, because that makes them feel more real. My favorite character so far is Ed, because he's so awkward, and because we both hate clowns.
Tell me what you think in the comments! And don't miss Episode 3, Friday at 10:30pm et on TeenNick.
