  • Katie sure has changed.

    Posted on 07/18/2012 by Lisa

Did Katie's behavior in "Walking on Broken Glass, pt. 1" shock you? (If you missed tonight's episode, watch it now, because it'll only be online until tomorrow.)

I believe trying to get revenge after a bad breakup is always a bad idea, but at the same time, I understand the impulse. When people are that hurt and that messed up in the head, they can't help wanting to take it out on someone.

Do you think Bianca deserved what Katie did to her tonight? What about Drew?

Oh, and I have one more question: What was Jake thinking?!?

Mike Dallas seems like trouble, doesn't he? I'm sort of amazed that Mrs. Torres agreed to house one of the hockey players. Aren't two boys in the house enough?!!

  • Degrassi Crash Course: Season 10

    Posted on 07/14/2012 by Lisa

Season ten had so many amazing episodes that it was really hard for me to pick a few favorite moments. I did my best to narrow it down, but if you have other favorites, please share them in the comments. I'm not here to fight, I'm here to EDUCATE future fans of this amazing show.

My personal season ten highlights include the episodes where Adam came out as transgender. I thought those episodes were mindblowing, and I think I may have cried more at them than I've EVER cried at any other TV episode (except maybe when J.T. was stabbed, but it's a close call). I LOVE Jordy Todosey, and I am so glad she does such an amazing job bringing Adam to life.

I was also seriously impressed by Jenna's pregnancy storyline. I get the feeling a lot of people still think of Jenna as a "boyfriend stealer," but I can't even imagine going through what she went through. I wish I could give that girl a hug.

One Degrassi moment that I will never forget -- because of how scary it was AND how people reacted to it -- was the scene where Eli crashed his hearse. To me, that was a sign of his mental illness, and that he really needed to get help. I was so disturbed to see people online talking about it as if it was a romantic gesture. If the teenagers of the world learn anything from Degrassi, I hope it's this: If a guy crashes a car to impress you, it doesn't mean he loves you -- it means he needs to be on medication.

I take Degrassi very seriously, and I know you guys do, too. Share your own personal highlights from season ten of Degrassi in the comments. Tell future Degrassi fans what makes this show so special!

  • Degrassi Crash Course: Season 9

    Posted on 07/13/2012 by Lisa

Season nine kicked off with the arrival of two rich kids, Declan and Fiona Coyne, at Degrassi. At first they seemed out of place, but this brother and sister made a real impact on the school.

Declan created an award-winning musical (and stirred up lots of romantic drama among his classmates) and Fiona faced one struggle after another as she tried to figure out where she belonged. Here's a hint, Fiona... when your life has that much drama, you DEFINITELY belong at Degrassi!

I loved the relationship between Johnny DiMarco and Alli Bhandari. I have a weakness for "opposites attract" storylines. At first, he seemed like a bad boy, and she seemed like a good girl, but by the time she runs away in season ten, it seems like he has his life together, and hers is a mess. That strikes me as very realistic (people change a lot, and sometimes the changes happen fast), so I really like their story.

Another moment that I love from season nine is when Clare steals a story from Declan's life because she feels like her own life is too boring. At the time, I sort of felt sorry for her, but knowing how things turn out, I love this reminder that Clare once had a boring life Little did she know that she'd have all sorts of dramatic relationships, that her parents would divorce, and that she'd leave home to live with drug dealers!

The weirdest thing about rewatching Degrassi is that we already know the characters' futures. It's weird, isn't it? I'm looking forward to next week, when we'll have NEW DEGRASSI! In the meantime, Degrassi Crash Course continues tomorrow. :)

  • Degrassi Crash Course: Season 8

    Posted on 07/12/2012 by Lisa

I think of season eight as the season of the Shep. Remember that guy? And remember how Clare took him down? She seemed so shy and quiet at first, but season eight proved that she's "more than just the smart one."

I was such a Klare fan during season eight. They were so young, and so cute. *Sigh*

I also loved that Jane made the football team. That showed how strong she was physically, and later in the season, as she worked to overcome sexual abuse, she demonstrated her emotional strength. I love everything about that girl.

Another storyline I loved during season eight was Riley's struggle with his sexuality. From trying to kiss Peter to experimenting with steroids, Riley went through a lot that season. I wish I could time-travel back to give him a hug (and show him a few "It gets better" videos).

What were your favorite moments and/or storylines from season eight? Share them in the comments, and keep watching Degrassi Crash Course all week on TeenNick!

  • Degrassi Showdown!

Degrassi Unity? Not so much. Watch the "Bite Your Tongue" promo again here:

What are your five favorite things about this video? Here are mine, in no particular order:

*Katie's blue leather jacket. (I also love her boots.)
*Bianca's orange nail polish. (This is a random one, I know.)
*The sheets of paper falling in slow motion as Eli and Becky argue.
*The "Degrassi Stargazers" club. Can I join? Please?
*The way everyone's hair blows around during the fight scene. It makes me want a giant fan for my apartment.

    What are your five?
