Xander Harris

Xander is one of Buffy's closest friends. He's witty, self-deprecating, and very protective of Buffy -- despite her super-human strength. He hadn't had much luck with girls, but that doesn't stop him from getting a hopeless crush on Buffy. Xander and Willow have been friends since childhood, and they briefly dated when they were five.
