[John Francis Dailey] Lindsay's little brother Sam is... well, little. Small and young-looking for a freshman -- not to mention interested in things like sci-fi and his grades -- he's classic bully bait. In other words, a geek. With his fellow freshman geeks Bill and Neal, Sam tries to navigate high school without getting beat-up or completely socially overlooked -- a fine line to tread. His sweet earnestness, quick mind, and the fact that he's not irretrievably awkward help him sometimes take small steps out of geekdom, earning tentative, intermittent almost-acceptance from popular kids like his cheerleader crush, Cindy.
