The 2011 HALO Awards are all about Helping and Leading Others, and now it's your turn to be a part of it! Visitors that view videos, share content, comment and more will earn points redeemable for real money donations to DonorsChoose.org to help classrooms in need.

Once your account is setup (simply follow the steps after connecting with Facebook on the Quest Bar above), you can earn points by:

  • Going on Quests, which lead you through the 2011 HALO experience
  • Watching HALO videos
  • Sharing content with your social sphere
  • Posting comments on the blog
  • Taking quizzes and playing games
  • And just by visiting TeenNick.com/HALO!

Track your points by clicking "Profile" on the Quest Bar above. Once you earn enough points to reach the next level, you can make a real-world difference and redeem them for DonorsChoose.org gift codes that you can then donate to a classroom project you choose.

To help you get started, we've created Quests to guide you through the journey. You don't NEED to follow the quests, but you'll earn extra points for completing them, so it's not a bad idea!

More info on how this works:

  • Begin by logging in with your Facebook account. Once you're logged in, the Quest Bar will open. This is where you'll find all of the mini-quests available for you to complete.
  • As the individual quests take your through the site you'll earn points for all of your HALO-related activity. As you complete each quest, it will be removed from your Quest Bar so that you'll only be seeing new quests to complete.
  • The Profile tab is where you can keep track of your points and how many points you still need in order to get a $5 dollar DonorsChoose.org donation code.

Keep earning points!

The HALO Effect will continue now through November 11th or until all $15,000 dollars of gift codes have been redeemed. After November 11th your points will expire and you will no longer be able to redeem your points, so be sure to redeem them before then!

If you've been participating and don't want to any longer, just log off and any points you have accumulated will be deleted when the HALO Effect ends on November 11th.
