Lois

Lois is Malcolm's opinionated and manipulative mother. She's the disciplinarian and is seen generally as an embarrassment to her five boys.

JANE KACZMAREK Jane Kaczmarek attended the Yale School of Drama and later landed a recurring role as a nurse on "St. Elsewhere." In 1994, Kaczmarek appeared on the legal dramas "L.A. Law" and "Law & Order." Kaczmarek played the mother to Reese Witherspoon and Tobey Maguire on the big screen in "Pleasantville" in 1998. Kaczmarek closed out the decade with a recurring role on the late 90's drama, "Felicity." In 2000, Kaczmarek began playing Lois on "Malcolm in the Middle," and she received numerous SAG, Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for the role.
